Charlie and Maxine Marsolini are an example of opposites attracting, marrying, and learning how to appreciate one another’s unique God-given qualities.
Charlie and Maxine's marriage of 34 years began after both were divorced and parents of young children. A lack of harmony at home confirmed their desperate need to find wisdom for their family's sake. They are blessed with 7 blended children and 13 grandchildren.
Charlie grew up in Boston’s Italian neighborhood. He received his degree in accounting from Bentley College of Finance. In 1969 he moved to Oregon and continued his work as a Certified Public Accountant. By 1977 Charlie was operating his own CPA practice in southern Oregon. He became a Series Seven Securities Broker with H.D. Vest Financial Services in 1988. By 1990 Charlie was sensing the Lord had some ministry work for him to do. He began as the Pacific Northwest Regional Director for Crown Ministries. He was now in a position to teach Biblical financial concepts to individuals and to train church leadership to do the same. The next 5 years furthered a strong desire to speak from the pulpit. The accounting practice was merged with another firm in 1995 and a course of study began resulting in ordination with the Church of the Nazarene. Over the next few years Charlie was both a Senior Pastor and a staff pastor. In May of 2006 he sensed God was calling him to leave his role as Pastor of Compassionate Ministries in order to return to full time work for Crown Financial Ministries. Crown’s teachings are impacting the nation and the world at a rapid pace. The merger of Crown Ministries and Christian Financial Concepts in September 2000 created Crown Financial Ministries. They are in 34 countries and anticipating nearly 60 countries by the end of 2007. Charlie serves Crown as a Journey To True Financial Freedom seminar instructor and Area Director for Oregon and SW Washington.
Maxine is a Coach, a speaker, and the author of Raising Children in Blended Families, Kregel Publications 2006, Blended Families, Moody Press in 2000, and Blended Families Workbook, Pleasant Word 2004. Her articles and stories have appeared in several magazines and compilation books. She is recognized as a valued resource for stepfamily matters. Maxine grew up on a small farm in southern Oregon. She came to the Lord while attending Bible Study Fellowship in 1982. Her family began to see that living life as a Christian was having a positive impact on how they treated each other at home. Maxine gains her coaching knowledge from Western Seminary, is on the board of Oregon Christian Writers, and maintains membership with the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Are they having fun? Yes! “We like to travel, create memories with family and friends, and encourage other people to build thriving families rooted in the timeless joy-filled essence of Biblical principles.”
